John. H. Puelicher
Three generations of the Puelicher family shaped banking at M&I, and influenced banking throughout America. John. H. Puelicher, pictured here, joined M&I in 1893 and served as its sixth president from 1920 to 1935. His son Albert S. (president, 1935-1963) and grandson, J.A. “Jack” (president, 1963-1997) carried on the traditions of innovation and customer service that guide the bank to this day.
In 1995, The Puelicher Centre for Banking Education opened at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.
